Giselle nodded to show she understood. "I see. How long have you been friends, or partners?" She was confused about where the difference lay between the two descriptions. She knew what a partner was, but the context in which Brennan was using it was a little lost on her. "So, you do not feel the same way about him that he feels for you?"
She was trying to understand, and glean details from the tight lipped scientist. It probably seemed as if she were asking a lot of questions, but it had to be done in order to understand the situation. "I see. And you are afraid of a romantic relationship that might sour? Because if it goes awry you can neither be friends nor lovers, is that correct?"
