Francis returned Mikhael's smile with a scowl. He didn't know what the other man was thinking to bring such an expression to his face, but it was probably nothing Francis would approve.
"As have I, and I've never felt their presence before." The scowl deepened. "When I first encountered them, they seemed different, not like either you or I at all." He thought back to the posturing and preening and odd descriptions both Lestat and Armand had displayed. "But I don't think they were lying. They had fangs, Mikhael. They spoke of immortality, and...." Francis trailed off, deciding not to mention that they'd seemed to find him lacking as a vampire somehow. He shook his head. "They have abilities that you and I do not."
