Who: Molly and Max What: The Great Escape When: Late Saturday evening Where: Children's Ward Rating: Probably PG Status: In-progress
To be honest? Max wasn't really worried. She'd broken out of weirder places than this. If you could escape a boat, you could escape a stupid building. Boats, dog crates, cages...she really was a master of escaping. But usually she had the rest of the flock coming to her aid. And though it'd been several days, there was still no sign of Iggy or Nudge, or even the stupid idiot moron heartbreaker Fang. Which led Max to believe she was, without a doubt, on her own.
Molly had mentioned leaving like it was easy. And frankly, Max had no problem with that. A little optimism never hurt anyone. It reminded her of Angel a little, and she liked that. Even if it still sort of hurt to think of the tiny traitor who was sometimes a traitor but was sometimes really adorable and still Max's baby girl.
Ugh. Feelings. She needed to stop that or she'd never get out. The House Mom person was basically the height of annoying, but she wasn't perfect. Max just had to time it right. And they at least got privacy when going to the bathroom, so there was always the option of sneaking out then. She just had to wait till the timing was right.
Finally, after hours of school work (which Max was not fond of), and an equal amount of chores (also none too fond), they had their personal time before bed. And instead of reading or getting on the internet, she found Molly. Glancing around to make sure they weren't being watched, she whispered, "Okay, what'd you have in mind?"
