When: Afternoon
What: Doing a little Investigative Work
Status: In Progress
As grateful as Dean was to have the Burger Shack back the fact that there was no evidence whatsoever that he and Sam had come upon it's ashes just a couple of days ago was beginning to get to him. It would've taken a week at least just to clear out the debris from the burnt down building and start rebuilding and yet when he'd walked by on Monday morning it'd been standing there, whole, with workers asking him if they could take his order. None of them seemed to know about a hurricane and when he pressed the issue he'd been asked sympathetically by the pretty redhead behind the counter if he'd like a coffee to help him sober up.
Needless to say it had been unnerving, not to mention that as he'd continued down the road all the water and structure damage he'd witnessed on Sunday had magically disappeared. He even double checked the journals to make sure that he hadn't just dreamed all of it, but there were the entries from the others noting the absence of the staff and the results of the storm. The only good thing that had come out of it was that it finally gave him something to do. He didn't like being stuck in one place with no purpose. Most of the people around here didn't need help, at least not in the way he usually helped. He thought a couple of them could probably use a good psychiatrist.
So he'd been all set to go out on his own and start interviewing staff members when it'd occurred to him that a little company probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Even better if it afforded him the opportunity to get to know Rose a little better. Besides, he couldn't think of very many guys who would want to lie to someone who looked like her. At least not about a hurricane. As for the women, well, he was pretty sure he could persuade them.
She had seemed on board with the idea and so it was only about twenty minutes later that they had set out on their investigative mission. Dean was leading the way and heading towards the Golf Course, pretty sure that Rose's friend Mateo might have some insight for them. Not to mention he wanted to see if his preconceived notions about Mateo being a glorified cabana boy in golf pants was true.
He was betting yes.
