Davina felt her skin prickle when Faye pointed out that somebody was watching them. This was exactly why she had made that sacred space in the basement of Crow Haven Corner. She needed a safe place where she could study magic when nobody was studying her. Davina just knew that she would be a target for the coven because Davina was always a target and she was a powerful witch. That was her life back home and that was her life here in Salem. And in both places she was being oppressed by some unseen ancient force of bitches.
She was tired of being pushed around. The ancestors had made Kol what he was today and she would use The Sandersons to stop it, somehow. Davina's magic was powerful but it wasn't like she could run around performing miracles like she had when she had brought Kol back. That took sacrifice and help. Davina couldn't do everything on her own. That was part of why Faye was with her.
"Someone is," Davina said. She ignored the feeling but turned back to Faye, acknowledging that it might be too much for her. "If you're scared you can go back to the car."
She knew that would have Faye doing the exact opposite of what she suggested. Davina smirked a little bit as she heard Faye stomp along behind her. She wasn't going back to the car, the two of them were going to see this through.
Finally, Davina dropped to her knees and pushed some dirt away from the window of an old house. "It's here!" she exclaimed. She managed to reach inside and open the ratchety old window just enough to slip inside. She coughed. The place was dusty and dirty, like nobody had touched or seen it in centuries. Maybe they hadn't. Everyone had just built around it like it wasn't even here.
"This is it," Davina said softly to Faye who had followed her in through the window. "Look around. See if you can find anything that might be useful." If nothing else, they would learn about The Sanderson Sisters and knowing the enemy was half the battle.
She stalked around the house, naturally drawn to the kitchen and that was where she saw it. Her palms out, fingers extended in pure elation as she reached the book. The book. It was powerful. She could feel it.
