A torrent of emotions swirled and rushed through his mind as Spike waited there in the darkness of the bedroom. The drawn shades and blacked out windows ensured that the vamp wouldn't wake up on fire. Plus in truth his eyes saw just fine despite the absence of light. However it wasn't his eyes that mattered just then. No it was his nose, and the enhanced sense of smell that alerted him to her presence long before she even spoke his name. God she smelled like sunshine and coconut, and every part of his body responded to the Slayer's scent. A part of him hoped that she didn't smell the same as the other Buffy, yet as she stood in the door way he couldn't deny that she was the same woman.
Oh both of them held two different sets of memories to be sure. To her he was a ghost from her past, and to him she was the one he had silently prayed to make happy. Turning his back on being evil had been a challenge, but Spike was love's bitch through and through. Hell even the soul he bore was testament to just what he'd do and sacrifice to be hers. So when the vamp heard his name on her lips everything else just faded away. Without thinking he was already on the move, suddenly there before her. His cool hand on her arms, pressing Buffy up against the open door, as he stood so very close.
His blue eyes watered when he realized she was really there, and not just some hallucination, but instead of saying a thing those eye lids drifted shut as he breathed in her scent. The warmth of her body felt so very good, and with a soft sigh he leaned in closer until his lips pressed against her own. Memories or not this was the same woman. That faint kiss grew more heated as he found himself drowning in her closeness, until at last he pull away to catch an unneeded breath. Spike licked his lips, savoring the taste of her, his chest rising and falling slowly with every breath he took, and at last a hint of a smile appeared as he spoke up at last.
"Smell and taste the same...so bloody good. Never thought I'd see ya again, love. Never thought I'd be able bask in the warmth of you either."
