Damien hadn't often shared this type of story of his past with most people. Oh, maybe surface stuff, implications of mental illness or religious fanaticism in his so-called family, and about how he had murder attempts. But to be able to share it in its full context, to reveal that it was done to him because of being the Antichrist and son of Lucifer. Very rare indeed. Only someone else who was a true relation of his would understand.
"That's a great thing," he replied with a nod. "That you had more of a normal life than mine. Most normal people, humans, they can be a bit irrational about stuff like this. I'd heard Christina had faced threats similar to my life as well. Fortunately, there's only one thing I can be killed with, but has to be very specific pattern in a specific place, otherwise its useless."
He smiled, he knew he could trust her. Probably made it easier to know she was like him. "Thank you," he said, watching her clean up the light bulb mess. "I'm really into action movies. Not so much horror, which might sound odd coming from me considering what I am. It's just... the stupidity, you know? People getting killed after making mistakes that even those of average intelligence wouldn't make. But if a film has explosions and chases, I'm totally in."
Like going into a basement, or asking if someone is there, or making noise while stumbling around in the dark. Such tropes annoyed him. "Oh! As to breakfast, I really favor bacon. Just for future reference." He laughed at that. "So, about books. I was mostly looking for something about the past. World leaders, kings, emperors, military campaigns, ancient empires. Roman Empire era happens to be a favorite of mine, also."
