Cady was flipping through a dog eared copy of a book about the bloody history of Salem. She couldn't help it, she loved reading about this kind of stuff. She was always a fan of that part of history back in school and now she liked true crime and things of that nature. People were savages when you stripped them down to their core. It made Cady wonder about herself.
She looked up and smiled wide when she saw her brother standing there.
"Damien?!" she exclaimed happily, her bright blue eyes dancing. "Yeah." She set down her book, forgetting to mark her page. She was glad that the store was empty at the moment except for the coworker in the back who was working the stockroom.
"No way. It's so good to see you." She walked around the counter to give him a hug, she had to. Her whole entire life she had wanted family and now she had one, a brother. Christina had filled the void of sister for a little while and even though she was gone now, it had been good while it lasted.
When Cady embraced her brother, a light bulb overhead burst and the glass shattered on the floor.
"Whoa!" Cady jumped apart from Damien. "Did we do that?" Freaky shit always happened around Cady but it seemed to be even freakier when she was with Christina.
