Who: Jake and Aria What: Trying and failing to leave the city When: After his arrival Where: Lobby to start Warnings: TBD
None of this made sense. Jake didn't belong here. There were so many things wrong with this that he just wanted to laugh because it was so unbelievable. Jake didn't do well under pressure and in a lot of ways, he felt the walls closing in on him. He felt the pressure of not being able to leave. No, he hadn't tried to leaving the city, which was what he planned on doing next. He just needed to get a grip. Considering his phone calls to APD weren't working at all, nor did a phone call to Lex work, he knew right then and there he was fucked. He still didn't think this had to do with witches. Someone, whoever that someone was that was in charge had people thinking that. There was always an explanation to events and there was always a way out. It was just a matter of getting there.
Things at home, in Atlanta weren't great. At the moment, a section of the city was cordoned off and under quarantine because of a virus that had broken out. Jake was one of the police officer's stuck inside and it wasn't by his doing, and it wasn't an order - at first. He was instructed to pick up a Syrian man who was seen on surveillance presenting himself to the hospital and he was visibly sick. Shortly after his encounter, the attending on duty became ill. The Syrian man was believed to be patient zero, but now - Jake didn't know what to believe. He figured out that those who were in charge were lying to the public and he was helping Katie build a case while trying to keep what they were doing a secret. Jake felt like he had gone through hell in the last twenty four hours and that was because he had. He had just spent the last three hours fighting off meth addicts who were trying to take over the lab he was in. And now he was here. And he didn't have the drive that Jana had recovered either.
He was more than just a little pissed. And he was worried. About Katie and her son. And Lex -
Shaking his head, he walked into the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror. No, he wasn't infected. He didn't have the virus, but every sneeze or cough, would always make him wonder now. Even here in Salem.
His phone beeped, which really, it wasn't even his phone. It was a phone provided for him and he saw a message from Aria saying that she was heading down to the lobby. He sighed and splashed some water on his face and dried himself off with a towel. He needed to see with his own eyes that there was no possible way. He needed to know for sure. He couldn't just take everyone's word for it. And he wouldn't. He grabbed the phone and texted her back, telling her that he was on his way before he headed downstairs.
