"Qetsiyah isn't here. She can't get you here." Elena knew that the promise wasn't totally genuine but she was too busy trying to literally talk Amara off the ledge to point out that if Qetsiyah did show up, Elena and her friends would do everything they could to stop her. She wasn't sure if that would be a comfort to Amara in her current distressed state. Elena was afraid that there was nothing she could say, nothing she could do. Amara might just be too far gone.
"I can't imagine what being the anchor to The Other Side for so long was like. But that's over now. But look, you survived."
Elena took a small step forward and gestured with her hand towards Amara. She tried to appear as nice and non-threatening as possible. She knew that at any second Amara might get spooked and bolt over the side of the building. As soon as that happened, Elena would feel awful and any chances of a tolerable Silas in Salem (where she was otherwise content) would be gone.
"You survived because you are stronger than you think. You survived because the thought of being with Silas was worth holding onto. He's here. And, Amara, I'm here and my friends are here and we'll help you. I used to think that there was nothing worth living for either. But then I came here, to Salem and the people that I cared about were here and..." She broke off, smiling a little because everything Elena was saying was genuine.
"It was better. It got better. I am so thankful every day that I'm here. Because it's a second chance at a better life. I know it can be for you too. Please, Amara. Don't jump. Life is worth living. Maybe even forever."
