Elena's voice was calm, soothing as ever as she stopped. She wanted to approach Amara but she didn't want to spook the girl right over the side of the roof. While Elena wished she could write Amara off as not her problem, she knew that Amara was instrumental in keeping Silas (mostly) sane. Silas wasn't all bad and Elena knew that because he could love. He loved Amara.
But it wasn't just about Silas, about keeping Silas off of their backs. It was about helping her. Because she couldn't help but look at Amara and see a reflection of herself, of Tatia and even, of Katherine. Because as much as Elena loathed the bitch, Katherine had been used, abused and tossed aside like every other doppelganger. It was the one thing they all shared, besides their face.
"I saw you in the hallway and I followed because I was worried. I know how confused you can get. But Silas is here. I saw him too."
She couldn't read the expression on Amara's face. Interesting in that one would assume that Elena had similar looks. Yet, she didn't spend a good deal of time looking at her own face. Though more than other people did, certainly.
"I was afraid when I came here at first. I did bad things. I was scared. But then I realized I could be with the person I loved, that he was here too. We could be together and that was what mattered. This place is different but maybe that's what we both needed so badly."
