Thea nearly choked on her drink when Roy just came out and said that Oliver, Ollie, her brother was Arrow, the vigilante, whatever. There was no way. That was just the most absurd thing that Thea had ever heard. Ollie? Her brother Oliver? The notorious playboy layabout? The guy who was more interested in women and martinis than in philanthropy? He was Arrow?
She didn't laugh, though she wanted to. Because it was completely hilarious to think that her brother was the vigilante. There was no way. The vigilante was responsible for Tommy's death from everything that Thea had heard. Tommy was Oliver's best friend, he would have never hurt Tommy.
An icy hand wrapped itself around Thea's heart and suddenly she felt cold. The late nights, mysterious appearances, not to mention Oliver did fit the description of the vigilante in every single way. Same height, same build, but the vigilante always had his eyes covered. Thea had never gotten close enough to really look under the hood but now she wished she had.
"Do I know?" she finally asked quietly. "Back home. I know about this, don't I?"
He was going to say yes and it was going to cheapen everything she was feeling right now. She had already been through this and dealt with her feelings about it. Just like she had already processed breaking up with Roy but here she had to do it all over again. It wasn't fair to her or anyone else.
The island had changed Oliver and even Thea, young and self absorbed as she was, could see it. She should have seen that he was the vigilante. Why hadn't she?
"How come he never told me?!" she exploded. She was angry at Oliver but she was about to take it out on Roy because he was here and she could kill the messenger. "I'm his sister. Our family has been through so much already. Why wouldn't he tell me this? I'm just supposed to find out one day like everyone else? Who else knows? Does Laurel know?" she demanded.
