When Roy changed his mind abut the drink, Thea was all too eager to suddenly make two scotch and sodas. No, she didn't need to resort to destructive old habits but a little bit of scotch to take the edge off didn't sound like the worst idea in the world. She made him his drink and passed it to him before setting her hazel eyes on him seriously. She wanted to know what was going on between them.
Her attention snapped to him when he began to explain to her what had happened. It made sense now that she was looking back on it. Of course, Roy had gotten in over his head and nearly killed a man. That was why they had been in the hospital that night. Everything from the past week was suddenly starting to make all kinds of sense to Thea. She took another gulp of her drink.
"Okay, I get it. I mean, I think I do. I wish you had been honest with me before but it sounds like we already worked through this. What I don't understand is what this has to do with my brother."
Why would Ollie offer to train Roy? Thea knew that she had probably learned some survival skills while he was stuck on that island for years but she had no idea just how far his skills extended. She didn't know that he was The Vigilante, The Hood, Green Arrow, whatever they were calling him these days. She just knew that The Vigilante was a horrible influence on Roy and she didn't approve of it.
Yet she could approve of Roy's vicious desire to be a hero. She hated it because it put him in danger all of the time but she loved it because it spoke to his character and everything she liked about him, even if it also drove her crazy.
"Are you okay now? I mean, are you still struggling? What happened to you, Roy?"
What she really wanted to ask was "what happened to us?" but she didn't know how to articulate that just yet so she kept her distance, hard as that was. All she wanted was to take comfort in him but she felt like she couldn't.
