Alex was so glad that Stefan didn't seem to be questioning why she had the skills she did, particularly about how she knew how to build a bomb. But as they walked through the hardware store, she quickly realized that she was not the only one. So Stefan had some secrets of his own. Everyone did of course, but Alex couldn't help being a little impressed and intrigued. Maybe they'd trade stories one day. Then again, Stefan probably knew more about Alex than he ever wanted to. She hadn't thought much of it, though. Everyone at home knew most of her story.
Once they were finished, she nodded and went outside to wait for him. While she was out there, she couldn't help once again looking for threats or anywhere a threat might pop up. That was just second nature to her. It came as easily as breathing. After going through all she had, and looking over her shoulder everywhere, well old habits died hard as they said. But she didn't think it was a bad thing, because for the most part, it kept her safe.
She really hoped this worked, but she didn't know what she was expecting to happen. No one liked to be kidnapped, but from what she could tell...some people seemed perfectly content here. Maybe they'd been brainwashed? It wouldn't be the first time Alex had run into that. And well, now she was wondering if Amanda was behind all of this. But what would she want with all of these other people?
She pushed the thought out of her mind, and tried to just focus on the mission. They just had to find a target now and then...well, there was no telling what might happen. It would be a message to their kidnappers, that they didn't appreciate being screwed with. But how would they respond? There was only one way to find out.
