Alex thought she was being pretty careful, but she didn't mind going outside either. Stefan had a point. Someone could always be listening. For all they knew, the lobby was bugged. It wasn't much of a stretch, considering who she was. And well, whoever was behind this probably wanted eyes and ears on their poor captives. She should have known better, but it didn't occur to her at the moment. Since neither of them were struck down by a bolt of lightning, she figured that for the moment...they were okay.
Once they were outside, there could still be bugs around of course but with the hustle and bustle of the city, the words they were speaking wouldn't be so easily picked up. Whether Stefan noticed or not, once they were outside...Alex identified any point of attack from rooftops to alleyways, making sure no one was there with a sniper rifle ready to take them out at the mere mention of doing something destructive.
It was funny how he thought this was something she had experience with when she mentioned working for the United Nations, since he had no idea about the time Alex had spent at Division and the skills she'd picked up from that. Nor did he know about her not so diplomatic way of going after sex trafficking rings on her own more often than not. No, Alex wasn't backing down from any of this. That just wasn't her style.
"I'm sure." She finally answered Stefan. "I don't respond well to captivity." And soon their captors were going to see that. At least she wasn't drugged this time, she had the ability to think clearly, and now for lack of a better term, she'd even found a partner in crime. Stefan wasn't Nikita of course, but Nikita wasn't here. And honestly, Nikita would have had serious reservations about Alex doing this, and Stefan didn't know her well enough to have the same.
"If this works, maybe we'll be one step closer to getting everyone back home." Or at least, maybe they'd have some answers. That feather trick had been a dirty one, and none of them knew quite what they were getting into.
