She rolled her eyes at Roy but she couldn't actually be annoyed at him when he was making such an excellent point. People were having fun. She could see it in their faces, she could hear it in their laughter and their hushed voices. A soft pink glow had fallen over the room and things were getting very romantic.
Well, not that romantic. Thea was hoping that most people could at least take that outside. There was no reason they couldn't enjoy a few drinks and a few apps before heading back to their various places to live or their hotel rooms. It wasn't any of Thea's business and the only business she cared about was Opus. People were spending money, that was what mattered. She could see Damon and the other bartenders busting their ass behind the bar to make sure that everyone stayed good and lubricated, a must for some date nights.
Not that Thea needed any alcohol to get excited about being with Roy. She spent most of the night sitting at a table with him, holding his hand and sipping ginger ale as they watched people dance and whisper and hold hands. It made Thea ache but not in a bad way. She was good at this. There had been a time where she really questioned her place in the world but she had found it. It had just taken awhile and a big realization about her father.
She made Roy dance with her exactly twice and then they spent the rest of the time sitting and talking but mostly watching. Occasionally, staff members would come over to ask Thea a question but the party seemed to be running itself.
After about an hour of people watching, Thea squeezed Roy's hand.
"Want to go back to my office with me?" She arched an eyebrow in his direction, hoping he would catch her drift. It was all very romantic, after all.
