Serena/Blair/Nate
Serena barely heard anything that her friends were saying. Her eyes couldn't help but stray to Dan. She wanted them to be hard and angry because that was how she felt at the moment but Serena hardly allowed her own emotions to be fully felt anymore. She was usually too absorbed in everyone else's. But when Dan's date tried to suck his face off it was like a sucker punch to the gut. Serena couldn't help it. She was hurt by how quickly he had moved on.
She shouldn't have been. Serena was the queen of the rebound. It was actually a natural assumption for Dan to make that she was moving on with Nate considering the way she had once bounced between the two of them back and forth. But Serena had kept to herself, had focused on work and helping Blair get settled in Salem. She was trying to be a good friend, a good person and here Dan was ruining that. Because all Serena wanted to do was destroy.
While Nate was at the bar getting them (hopefully) strong drinks, Serena and Blair took a seat at a nearby table that had been decorated for the event.
"You know how I always tell you that schemes are bad and we shouldn't do them because we might hurt innocent people?" Serena asked. It was clearly a rhetorical question but she could see the evil glint in her best friend's eyes already. Blair could always be counted on for a takedown.
"That girl with Dan. She doesn't look too innocent."
Actually, she did. That was the thing. Dan clearly had a type and it was angelic and blonde. Serena had the more supermodel angle going on but Ali was beautiful in her own cherubic way and Serena hated her. She wanted to rip those dimples off her stupid face.
