Thea was proud of the work she had done at Opus. It wasn't the same as the club she managed back home and she tried not to think about that or else she might start to miss it. Missing home was a tragedy in and of itself in Salem and Thea didn't have time to dwell on it. Not now. Back home, as far as Thea knew, Roy was no longer part of the team. He had let Thea take his place but Thea didn't want his place, she wanted him. One thing Thea had learned in her crazy life was that if you didn't make room for love, the pain wasn't worth it. She was hoping her obstinate brother would come to see that and actually bring Laurel to the party. She knew things were complicated for Oliver and Laurel but Thea loved them and she wanted them to find a little bit of happiness if they could.
Roy said he would meet her later because for now, Thea had lots to do. She hadn't even had time to get dressed yet as she was still ordering cooks and bartenders around. There was an ice sculpture of Cupid that she had ordered for the front of the dance floor she had created. She had wished she had just asked Ollie and Dig and Roy to move it for her because the men she hired were having a hard time keeping it balanced and Thea kept waiting to hear ice crash to the floor. She decided to check back on that one later and began to inspect the rest of the restaurant slash bar that had been turned into a Valentine's Day Wonderland for the holiday.
The bars had red lights shining on them so they seemed to glow in the dark in a sexy aura. All of the lighting was soft and pink and red until you hit the dance floor where colors would flash wildly once the music started. Thea wanted to start the night with cocktail hour and then move into dancing after that. She and Damon had created a special drink list for the occasion and she had already taste tested a couple of them. She thought her customers would be incredibly happy. The drinks weren't going to be cheap. This wasn't Rockafellas or Gulu Gulu Cafe. Opus had a certain class to it that Thea wanted to preserve. All of the fine dining establishments in Salem brought their own special attributes to the city which was why Thea had jumped on Valentine's Day. She thought Opus was the perfect place to host a party for the holiday of love.
Once she had inspected the cocktail list for the hundredth time, she looked up and was glad to see that they had gotten the ice sculpture up and ready. She smiled briefly before the cook came marching out to complain to Thea about his staff. Thea tried her best to calm him down and reassure him that any troublemakers would be dealt with in the morning but for tonight they needed to serve the people and make some money so they could all get paid. The cook begrudgingly returned to the kitchen but not before leaving out several samples of appetizers that would be served during cocktail hour. Thea helped herself to a stuffed mushroom. It was really good so she was willing to put up with the kitchen drama.
"Oh my God, it's 8:30!" she exclaimed when her phone buzzed with a text from Roy wanting to know if she needed any help. "Crap. I have to get ready."
She shot Damon a quick smile before she jumped off the barstool and headed back towards her office where she slapped on a quick coat of makeup and bright red lipstick to match the dress she had bought. It was admittedly not her usual type of dress but Thea liked it. Salem was all about second chances, doing things differently and Thea felt like a brand new girl since John Constantine had cured her of her the effects of The Lazarus Pit. After she checked her lines and seams a few thousand times, she went out into the bar and found the party had started while she had been locked away. A few couples had trickled in and were already laughing over cocktails. Thea grinned. Tonight was going to be a success.
