Faye probably shouldn't have even been outside. It was gross. And cold. But she was tired of being cooped up and it wasn't like she had to work today. She only worked part time now. The rest of the time she was at home or she was out, spending Jake's money like she was now. He was at work and he worked a lot and it was great, but she was missed him. It kind of sucked. At night he was super freaking tired, so that sucked even more. Whatever, she knew that after the baby was born, things would be better, right? She didn't know. She was taking all of this a day at a time.
It wasn't even like she could ignore her stomach now. It was there, in plain view and luckily she could wear coats because it was so cold outside, but it was there. The baby was nearly five months. It still shocked her that the baby was okay considering she was nearly six weeks pregnant when she found out she was pregnant and all of that alcohol ... it freaked her out. And sometimes she had nightmares about it. But the doctor said she was fine and the baby was fine, but she always thought something was wrong. Like, with her. Whatever, she tried to not think about it.
She was pushing hangers along the rack that held jeans. She needed new ones and she had texted Jake before coming out to the stores about what she was doing so he knew. It wasn't like she just spent his money without telling him. As she stood there, she wasn't feeling so hot and she looked around, wondering if anyone was noticing because sometimes it just felt like all eyes were on her. Not that she didn't mind attention but that was before when she didn't look like a hippo. She ignored it and went back to shopping, finally getting herself two pairs of jeans along with a black sweatery top and she carried her bags out the door. She started walking along the sidewalk when she reached into her purse to grab her cell phone so she could get an Uber when she felt herself being pushed from behind.
It might not have been intentional but Faye lost her footing and literally slipped, falling on her ass. "Fuck!" She screamed out, but it really fucking hurt. Bad. She turned around and the person or whatever the hell was gone and she looked ahead at some guy walking toward her, leaning down so he could help her up. "I'm fine, I got it," she said, but she didn't and he ended up helping her anyway. She bent down to get her bags and that's when she felt it, a deep pain in her stomach and she cried out, nearly doubling over.
"Oh my God," she groaned. No, this wasn't happening. It wasn't like she knew what the hell was going on. She hadn't been pregnant before but she knew that this didn't feel like a fucking walk in the park.
She stood up a little straighter an she felt it again as she grabbed her stomach. She looked at the guy who helped her up. "What the hell are you looking at!?" She snapped, but God, if it wasn't for him, she'd probably still be on the sidewalk.
"Sorry, I just - it hurts." And why was she telling a complete stranger this? Who the fuck knew. For all she knew he could have been one of those stupid witch hunters. She would have had no clue that he was actually one of Stiles' friends.
