Peter looked out into the darkness despite being able to see jackshit but his gut was telling him it wasn't the wind. A breeze wouldn't snap a twig on the ground. He squinted in hopes of seeing anything but before he could make any real attempt, he was pulled down and left squatting without so much as a get down. "What is it," Peter whispered harshly, needing to know what the hell they were hiding from. A second later, he regretted asking.
His eyes widened and his head whipped over from where the noise had come from. Jurassic Park was a little after his time on earth but he had been trying to catch up on pop culture and that was one of the first movies he had seen in Salem. Raptors were no fucking joke and now he was feeling like a sitting duck. The raptors weren't as big as the triceratops but they would gladly eat his intestines for dinner and have Seth for dessert.
"Fly, we need to fly." Thank god for his jet boots and his inability to leave them at his house. He had no idea how close or far away the raptors were without his helmet but he wasn't keen on finding out. He grabbed Seth in a death grip and turned on the jets. Their feet left the ground and they started to pick up speed but before they were high enough, Peter heard running steps and a lot of rustling coming from down below, and before he could more than realize what that meant, a pair of sharp fangs snapped over the heel of one of his boots and pulled it clean off his foot. Peter let out a surprised curse and held onto Seth even tighter so they didn't split up.
With only one jet between the two of them, they went flying sideways and crashed into the first set of trees that got in their way. Peter groaned as his shoulder bounced off the thick trunk and sent a shock of pain right down to his collarbone. He muttered more curses under his breath and reached for his quad blasters. He handed one to seth and held the other in his good hand.
"You alright?" No sooner than the question left his lips that Peter heard more rustling. Immediately, he lifted the blaster and started shooting indiscriminately hoping to get at least one of the raptors. Bursts of lightning lit up the surrounding area for a split second and Peter saw the amber eye of one of the raptors before it fell back and disappeared. Maybe to regroup with the other two or something.
