Lydia couldn't even have the emotion to hate the girl who had pointed the finger. The banshee was too busy fighting for her life. The men were obviously stronger than her so it didn't actually take much to take hold of Lydia. One of them bent Lydia's arm hard enough that she actually cried out, her body trembling when one of them tried to kick the back of her knees.
This couldn't be happening. Lydia half expected for Allison to come bursting through the crowd but she didn't. Nobody was coming. Lydia felt so horrified and alone in that moment as she was beginning to wonder what was going to happen next. If nobody could be her savior then Lydia had to act. She didn't need anyone anymore. That's why she learned how to fight. It was why she honed her banshee powers.
The air shifted violently enough for the men holding her to be surprised. Lydia took in a deep breath, her eyes darkening as she pushed her hands out as she screamed. The boom that exploded from her mouth was enough to flatten the crowd, her banshee scream echoing out as the sonic wave plummeted the people trying to take her.
"Witchcraft! That must be witchcraft!"
Panic rose inside of Lydia as she turned to run. It was like she had only a small window of escape that was slipping away by the second as she saw people getting up and chasing after her. Lydia turned a corner and was met with a wall of people, a man grabbing her by the shoulders.
Lydia went to scream again but this time someone came up from behind her, a grossly, mitten covered hand running over her mouth and clamping over it.
