Who: Jubilee and open to all
What: Games at the arcade
When: Evening/bendy time
Where: Willows Arcade
Warnings: Some memories with a bit violence?
It had been a few weeks since Jubilee had woken startled from a dream about some chick offering her a feather. If she were being honest, at the time she thought she was just plain dead. After going toe to toe with Sabretooth… Mostly she remembered the hot pain of the gouges in her skin he had made. The sound of her jacket then her skin ripping open still echoed in her ears. Nervously Jubilee rubbed her arm where she knew the evidence of that battle should have been. Shaking her head she tried to rid herself of the throbbing that had started there.
No good. The pulse behind her eyes was not going anywhere anytime soon. Falling backward onto her bed, Jubilee blew her hair off her eyes. The black messy tangles had fallen and began to tickle her nose. A distraction, that is what she needed. Briefly she rolled her head to look at her desk. Blinking at the stack of books there. That chem homework was not going to do itself but she sooo was not doing it either. Then it clicked. The arcade.
“Done” Jubilee said suddenly springing to her feet and shoved her feet into her boots and shimmying into the winter jacket she had picked up shortly after she arrived here. Salem was COLD. No comparison to the sunny west coast here. Jamming a winter cap over her head and grabbing her keys, Jubes headed out into the winter cold.
After a very stiff and shivery walk, Jubilee finally made it to the arcade. Stamping off the ice melt and snow that clung to her boots, Jubes pushed open the door to the arcade and the waft of aged soda and sweat met her. Being flashed forward a few decades was still settling weird with her. Arcades in her time were the hip joints and here they were almost retired for the most part. A few of the locals told her that this was one of the few places left around with this many working machines. It made her a little sad to see the games like this. The colors faded and the buttons well used.
Who knew if and when she would make it home. Wolvie Jubilee frowned thinking of her friend. Where are you? Rouge had recently disappeared as well, leaving her alone in this strange town. At first Jubilee had been worried for her friend, but then some of the other students at school had reassured her that this happened from time to time. Perhaps soon she would even be back. Or someone else from her world would find their way to Salem. Jubes would be lying to herself if she hadn’t secretly hoped these witches or whoever brought Logan to her.
Shaking off the sadness Jubilee decided to bury those feelings somewhere in Space invaders. The “insert coins now” flashed brightly across the screen at her and Jubes only chuckled “Yeah right, dude”. Casually she glanced over her shoulder and held a hand to the screen. Bright and colorful lights flashed between her palm and the screen and the message disappeared and the game into began to play. “Radical” Jubilee said to herself. Popping a piece of gum in her mouth she placed her hands at the ready. High Score, here comes Jubilee.
