"All of the above?" Serena said, giving Dan a helpless look. "Dan, if you wanted to talk about this why didn't you just call me? Or text me or whatever and we could have talked about this. Now you're drunk and I don't think it's the right time to be talking about it."
Serena didn't live alone after all. Nate was the only one living in the house. Jessie was there too and Serena knew she didn't have any friends from home here to support her. She was on her own so Serena wanted to look out for her and make sure she was alright. The last thing she wanted was for Jessie to get dragged into Serena's drama. But Serena and drama went hand in hand and now that her life had been changed, things were more dramatic than ever.
She sighed heavily and folded her arms over her chest. It was a defensive move because that was how Serena felt around Dan these days. Now that he was drunk and angry, she felt something new coming off of him. Something dangerous. She had known he could be sinister but dangerous? She didn't know what to think. But Serena had learned to trust her feelings.
She did have a gun. She hated to think about it because she would never kill Dan. Probably. But she did have a gun and she was thinking about where it was now. She wasn't the greatest shot but she could wave it around and look convincing. Sam had been teaching her.
"Yes. I'm more sensitive to feelings now so that was part of it. I can feel how unhappy how negative you are all of the time. It's overwhelming to me. Like right now you feel overwhelming. It's uncomfortable," Serena said, trying to explain to him. It was difficult since she didn't fully understand it herself.
