who alec and kage what bad news bears when after he discovers magnus is gone where woods status/rating open and angsty
Gone.
Another person had left Alec behind. He barely looked as he shoved his feet into his battered combat boots. Left alone. He yanked on his leather jacket before pretty much running down the stairs of the new house. He barely registered if other people were home. Raziel, he felt like he was suffocating. Just trying to get air into his lungs hurt and he didn't know what to do.
He had to get out of the new house. He had to get out.
His hands slammed into the front door and he didn't check to see if had cracked anything. The door didn't deserve the abuse, but what door ever did? He tumbled outside and took off running as if he was planning to outrun his emotions.
Don't do anything stupid, Alec.
How many times had Jace said that to him in Salem?
Damn it. He had lost Magnus! He had hurt when he lost his siblings, when he lost Clary, but this? This was a new and horrible feeling. Why did people keep leaving Alec behind? Why had Magnus left him? Magnus had been in Salem longer than any of them and now that role fell to Alec. He had never wanted to be the one to watch his loved ones come and go. This place was some sick joke. He could feel his heart shattering in his chest and that alone made him stumble slightly. All of his normal grace was gone as he landed awkwardly in some freezing grass. Cold seeped through his old jeans as he crashed to his knees. Bare hands formed fists and that poor grass got punched.
"Damn it," he breathed out before throwing himself dramatically onto his back. The sky was overcast just like his stupid mood.
Stupid Salem.
The Shadowhunter stared blankly up at the sky. What was he supposed to do now? He couldn't fall apart, he was supposed to hold it together, but in that moment he didn't care. No, he hurt too much to care. If he went home things wouldn't be the same with the warlock so he didn't even try to wish he was back in New York. There was a chance Magnus would show up again, but that made his heart even more. Even if Mags showed up again, well, there was no promise he'd remember anything.
He knew at some point he'd have to head back to his new home, but for now he just wanted to feel cold. Numb. Uncaring. If only his heart and head would get the memo. The one person he had honestly loved was gone and it was the witches' fault. He was going to kill all of them once he found them. It wouldn't solve the problem, but it would help him get out some rage.
No. He couldn't. Alec wasn't going to murder anyone. Not yet anyway...
