Faith arched a brow at him. She had no problem with him looking at her. Men were going to be men and Faith didn't expect anything better from them. She had learned a long time ago that expecting more was a road to disappointment. But his comment about her "Showgirls re-enactment" did make her want to punch the shit out of him.
"I'm working," she said bitterly, giving him a dark look that warned him he had stepped over a line with her. This was a job and she was good at it and it paid well. There was an artistry to dancing that sex workers generally lacked. But Faith was well suited to it and it was well suited to her. She had been offended when she had first been assigned her job, especially when there was cool kick ass stuff like the Salem Fight Club going on. Faith still planned to make a cameo there but here was where she was making all the money right now.
"And you do owe me one now. So come with me." She nodded at him. As long as Gunn was with her, nobody was going to give him any shit. She led him around backstage and didn't have to look up at him to see his eyes drawn to all of the half naked women who were wandering around back there. None of them even flinched when they saw a man walking around. They were used to security, to the club owners, nudity was just a lifestyle for them. Some of them gave bjs and shit on the side but Faith frowned on that. They weren't prostitutes, they were dancers.
She grabbed a sheer silky robe out of her locker and shrugged it on over her shoulders so that at least her tits were covered. She couldn't exactly do business if Gunn was too distracted.
Once she was covered up, she nodded again, this time leading him through a winding stairwell covered in girls who were half naked, struggling with fake eyelashes and wigs and platform shoes. Faith passed them all with a grace that they all envied until they reached the bar area again.
Faith ordered two whiskeys straight and sat down next to him.
"When you're here, I'm Cristal. Got it? Don't call me Faith again." Faith had to clearly define herself from her job or things would get a little too confused for her.
She glanced out over the crowd, trying to weed out the vampires from the humans.
"Some of the girls here, they do more than strip. It's the usual stuff but there's more. Some of them are selling their blood to the local vamp population." Faith leaned down to whisper to Gunn. To anyone who glanced up, it would appear she was flirting with a customer but she just didn't want to risk anyone eavesdropping.
