Being human in Salem was a tricky business. Danny would have thought just being human in Beacon Hills was rough, but Beacon Hills didn't have that much strangeness going on. Okay, sure, it had a lot of werewolves and some other things, but it didn't have people changing into mermaids or whatever. (Note to self: steal Jackson's phone and delete any and all pictures of that time.) So Danny was stuck trying to figure out how to find his own way in this town. The pack was starting to pull him in on some things, but he still felt a drift.
Meeting Matt had helped. Signing up for those classes had helped even more, but Danny needed to do more. So he did what he had done in Beacon Hills, he researched the ley lines. In a strange turn of events, he had purchased a toy robot to modify since he was so out of practice. There was no way he could build something from scratch right now, not until he brushed up more on his skills. So he settled on just rewiring the toy and creating a new directive.
Things had started working out fine. He used a tablet to monitor what the robot was mapping, making notes when a hot spot of power showed up. He hadn't been lying when he told Jackson he hoped to find the most power. There was a large chance where there was large power there was a coven of witches. Hopefully the witches in charge were at the power point and then the pack and Jackson could take care of them. Sure, Danny wasn't normally for death, but the things these witches were doing...
Oh, shit. Danny realized something was wrong with his robot. The reports were coming back with new code in them. Wait, did the robot just swear at him? That wasn't in the coding! He tried to shut the thing down and got a digital flip off for his troubles. No, no, no! How was he going to explain this one?
He heard the yell and he took off running towards the last marked location he had received. Danny skidded to a stop as he stared at his now rogue robot.
"It was supposed to track leylines, not attack people," he managed to say. "I can't shut it off!" The tablet screen went on the fritz before the whole thing overheated. Danny let out a yelp before dropping the tablet. The sound of the screen cracking filled the air, but he was more concerned about the fact the robot kept going after the other dude. Well, that and the fact it seemed like the robot had just nuked the tablet. There went his data!
