"Could be a good idea," Faith said non-committedly. "You gonna dance?"
Faith was used to the clubs now. She worked at one, danced at one, got paid to be at one a few nights a week. Faith didn't have to work full time as a stripper. She did well enough, made her own money and still had plenty of time to devote to slaying. Her Orpheus flashbacks had been less frequent lately and she hoped that meant she was getting far enough away from the drug now that she could live a normal life without worrying about losing her mind on the hunt. It was embarrassing to have a flashback at work but it wasn't a life or death situation and Gunn was there to deal with it so nothing was ever wounded but Faith's pride. It was Angelus taking advantage of her during one of those spells that bugged her.
And he wanted to, she could feel it. She hadn't shared it with Buffy or Cordy or even Gunn yet but she had spotted Angelus a few times at The Golden Banana watching Faith from some dark smoky corner of the bar with hooded eyes. She had no idea if Spike knew or not but on the off chance that Bleach Boy wasn't paying attention, she wasn't sure it was something she wanted to bring to his attention. Faith acted like she hated Spike but she actually liked the guy okay. For a vampire.
She was scanning the crowd tonight as she took sips of her drink since their moody psychopathic boyfriend was probably in the crowd watching them right now. God, they really needed to do something about him but Faith didn't know what. Willow wasn't coming up with shit since there was no Orb of Thesula in Salem and Faith and Buffy couldn't even seem to wrestle him into a cage. The dude was slippery as hell, Faith would give him that.
The bass was thumping through Faith's feet and she could feel it starting to take hold. Stripping was an art form. Dancing at a club was essentially fucking with your clothes on and Cordelia had brought her here. Well, that gave Faith a good idea on where Cordelia's interest in Faith was at. She felt a little bad for trash talking her to Buffy. It was the wrong move because Cordy wasn't doing anything that Faith didn't do herself and Buffy took that as an opportunity to make a move on Faith. Bitch. Why hadn't she tried that years ago when Faith was desperate for a little love from Buffy? But nope, in the days of Angel, Buffy was happy to freeze Faith out. Bitch. Bitch. Bitch. Faith hated her so much.
"Let's dance," she said suddenly. She grabbed Cordelia's hand and pulled her towards the dance floor. It didn't take booze to get Faith's juices flowing. It took a good solid hatred of Buffy Summers.
