"I know that there are witches in the hotel. A few of them have complained about being lumped in with the ones that kidnapped us." Edward rolled his eyes at that. He thought it was a little obvious that when people blamed witches in their posts that they were referring to the ones that were responsible for the mess they were in. They were overly sensitive in his opinion. "So there's that."
At the mention of Al working, Ed met Winry's gaze. "As far as my job goes, it's not bad and if I'm not here, the library is where I would be so don't worry about me. I'm alright. And," he started and purposely moved his gaze over to Al. He knew Winry almost as much as he knew himself and she wasn't going to like any answer that didn't align with what she thought. "Winry's right about us being okay when it comes to money but I'm not gonna forbid you to work. If you want to work when you're done with school stuff, that's up to you."
He and Al hadn't exactly had a normal childhood and while he would have been thrilled to actually have Al do kid things, he wasn't going to stand in the way of Al making his own choices. He'd definitely be there to suggest stuff and steer Al in the right direction but something like working wasn't where he was going to draw the line in the sand even if Winry didn't like it.
"School isn't terrible." That wasn't a ringing endorsement but Ed wasn't about to say the place was great either. "There are some things you can take that are useful like computer classes." He honestly didn't care about the history of Salem or the rest of the country. "You should at least go for a couple days when you're ready and see if you like it or not. We'll go from there."
He patted the side of Al's arm and shot his a grin. "If nothing else, the university library is open to the public and the books there have been very informative."
