He had been learning a great deal about this monster playground of sorts. There were even people here that could most certainly bring out the monster in him. That wasn't the sort of person he was though, or wanted to be. Things had happened, been done to him that had made him want to do monstrous things. He made a vow of revenge for the pain caused and he wasn't one to take such things very lightly.
His grin widened a bit when she asked about his pizza parlor. It was an establishment he was extremely proud of. His popularity along the west coast had grown immensely not just because of who he was in the downworld, but even more so because he made one hell of a pizza. Obviously the more important of the two. "Just cause I'm the owner doesn't make me any better than any of my workers. Most nights I'd be the one behind the counter pumping out the pizzas on a busy night." Shrugging his shoulders a little, "That's how I got to own the place to begin with."
He thought about what she had said about people pretending to know what they want. It was a pretty complex statement to state in a general form. "Sounds like you've had some experience with people who don't actually know what they want in life. But do you know what you want? You don't have to answer of course, it's more rhetorical than anything." There was a pleasant surprise to even have this kind of conversation with her. One of the unfortunate drawbacks to LA was a lot of beauty with little brains. He didn't understand the appeal.
"I guess because if I'm going to impress you, it's going to be me...not me being someone or something else. Otherwise it's setting us for possibly starting anything from friendship to whatever based solely on a lie." Slow was perfect for him, he had plenty of time for slow.
