There was a pang of regret. He was stupid for thinking anything good could have happened from kissing her. Theo wasn't meant to have anyone, he'd fucked up too many things. Killed too many people. He didn't deserve even her friendship, and he was well aware of that. People were pretty fast to remind him, but he also made sure to remind himself constantly of the things he had done. The threats on his life meant nothing. Dying, meant nothing. He already knew what happened when you died, where he'd go and what would happen next. He didn't deserve even the thought that this would have been possible.
His breathing hitched not because of his running, but the sight of her once he came into view. Her words, the way she sat there looking defeated. His jaw clenched, and he hated the way she had seen him now. "I didn't do it to be a hero, Kira." His words were laced with anger that she would think it was just to look a certain way. "I died, so you wouldn't. I did it because I care..." His chest heaved with a heavy breath and he looked around, the smell of the smoking leaves had a pretty pungent smell but they hadn't caught fire and nothing else around them seemed to be all that affected either.
He shook his head once she said she was a stupid mess. His shoulders shrugged and he actually looked as though he had been defeated. "Just forget it. Forget..." He blinked a few times and started walking backwards. "Just forget it even happened. Go back and just act like it never happened if that's what you want to do. If that's easier for you. I didn't...I wasn't trying to confuse you, Kira." He sighed some and just turned his back and started walking out of the park. He could feel the arcs of electricity racing around his entire body, but he could control each one of them as they licked off his skin and popped just above his skin.
