His words confused her and any chance at asking him what he was talking about was cut off. Kira's eyes widened in pure surprise as he knocked her finger away. What happened next seemed to go in slow motion, but the type where she couldn't do anything to stop things. His hand was on her neck and then suddenly his lips were on hers.
She had suddenly turned into a kitsune statue that was frozen in time. Was this really happening? He was supposed to be evil, someone that she was supposed to hate. Yet, somehow, he had tossed his own life away to save hers. Now this? A few sparks escaped her fingers before she brought her hands up without thinking. Her fingers rested on either side of his face as she started to kiss him back. She started to lean into him as she let herself get lost in the kiss.
Her brain suddenly caught up and she yanked away as if he had burned her. "Theo," she said in a panicked tone. Theo was pretty good at predicting the future because Kira did shock him, though not enough to kill him a third time. Her grasp on her power was slipping as her thoughts started to get confusing. The young kitsune tried to step backward and ended up slamming into the wall as she stared at Theo will a mild look of horror on her face. He had kissed her and she had kissed him back! No, that wasn't supposed to happen.
"You shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have done that! We shouldn't have done that." Tiny sparks escaped from her fingers as she completely lost control of her calming thoughts. The waves in her heard were chaotic. Each wave that crashed in her mind was another spark that escaped from her fingers. She yanked them away from the chimera in front of her and did the only thing she could think of, she shoved him out of the way. Kira took off running, not evening stopping to pick up her phone as she bolted out of the hotel lobby. The beach, she needed to make it to the beach!
Theo Raken was trouble.
Kira had kissed him back. The confusion she had felt before was nothing compared to what she was dealing with now. There wasn't really anyone she could talk to about this. Hayden was gone and no one else in the Pack would listen.
