The energy was intense. Letting the power go hadn't knocked down her reserves any, but she felt a stab of guilt at trying to fry Theo. Kira hadn't really done it on purpose and it also hadn't been an accident. No, the reaction had just been kind of natural. She had been startled and angry so she had let go of her control for a moment. Despite that, she could feel the power that his body was battling with. The result was her own power trying to break free again.
Waves.
She forced herself to think of the sound of waves. In her mind she could picture wave after wave hitting the shore, in a kind of peaceful motion. The power under her skin stirred and started to mellow out. She didn't have this urge to release more energy into the air. Instead, she just felt like she had consumed at least 20 energy drinks. She was wide awake and almost jittery from the power. Her fingers twitched as she stopped herself from reaching out and touching the chimera. She settled on clenching her hands into fists and just kept glaring at him.
The words were like a slap to the face and she flinched away from him. Scott had told her to stay away from Theo. Everyone seemed to have strong opinions of the chimera and she couldn't quite grasp their image of him. The person who stood in front of her was someone who had died for her!
"I didn't say I agreed with them," she lashed out with her words. "They don't listen to me about you, Theo! I know they are eager to kill you and it hurts me. We are supposed to find a solution that doesn't involve death-" Her fist came out and she slammed it into the wall next to her. Tiny sparks spread across the wall from her hand, but it was only surface damage that appeared.
"Why do you even care? I got you killed twice! Me! Not them," she took a step closer to him as she finally brought a finger up to jab him in the chest. "Sure I don't remember the first time, but I sure as Hell remember the second time! It was supposed to be me dead, not you. It was NEVER supposed to be you."
