Hi everyone. I'm Jay, and this is my girl Talyssa.

She's another Antonite. Originally she's Roma, from Romania; she's obviously spent time in the castle, and now she's at Saint Margaret's.

Talyssa is an omniglot. That means, she is fluent in every language that is, was, or ever will be. As a result, she doesn't really understand language. Everyone else has run into a situation where they meet someone who doesn't speak their language for the first time and begins to understand that they have a language, and some other people have other languages... well, Talyssa's never had that. For her, there are just words, and some people use some words, and others use different words. She understands it all.

She understands animals, though there are certain physiological differences which mean she's not as adept at speaking their language. Sometimes, her ability is akin to someone speaking English with a heavy accent and a speech impediment... sometimes, she simply can't make the required sounds and ends up inadvertently insulting the creature she's speaking to!

She understands plants and trees, though that's more an emotional thing than a language thing. Trees and plants are alive, but they're not sentient in the way that humans are, or even the way that animals are.

There's more in her bio if you're interested, but that's about the long and the short of her. She's into tarot (can read the cards) but the language thing is her main gift/power.

She needs friends! She also needs enemies/people who don't enjoy her. Particularly people who don't realize the scope of her power and try to talk about her in other languages, thinking she won't understand! Because of what she endured in the castle, she tends to be pretty chatty: sometimes too much so.

I work M-F 8-4 at the moment, but I'm in New Zealand so I'm not sure how that'll line up with other people. I'm not sure how much playing I can do from work. I'm on a computer all day, but it's too soon to tell how much downtime I'm going to get!

Huzzah! At last! New Antonites are always welcome :D I think we’ve talked enough already about Nick and Pui, so I’ll concentrate on my others here. I’ll try to make it brief because I have a lot of characters XD

Teachers:
Mr. Kaden is a werebear, head of Ladon House, and teaches PE, home Ec., coaches soccer and oversees the carpentry club. He’s a giant teddybear most of the time, cares about all the kids and is protective of them through all seasons, but during the winter is when his bear half really wants to hibernate and his human half really can’t let it. Job and all, bah! So he becomes Mr. grumpy pants.

Now Mr. Hartley is a retired Dragonslayer who has had a change of heart and come to help protect the supernatural beasties rather than hunt them to extinction. He teaches Dragonology (claro), Supernatural History, and Self Defense. He’s a no nonsense kind of guy who doesn’t like his time wasted.

Students:
Derrick is a technomancer and he’s pretty friendly! He’s also in Sphinx, so they’ll have that in common. He’s from a little town in Kansas and has been recruited by the FBI to use his abilities to hunt down terrorist cells and the like. He’s been training with them in Quantico over school breaks.

Cheyenne is the daughter of Cerberus - though technically she was created by Hecate and Hades. She can transform into a three headed dog with a venomous snake tail, lion feet so yeah she’s pretty scary. But really she’s just a pup trying to fit in with the cool kids and crushing on boys. She can be a mean girl at times and can definitely give Talyssa a hard time. She’s in Ladon.

Van is a Kelpie! He’s in Hydra and isn’t afraid to say what he thinks. He’s one ornery fella! He’s known for getting into fights, both physical and on the network, but he’ll also stand up for people and causes he believes in. He’s VP and is dating the Student Body Pres.~

Galad is an elf and has a twin brother. He’s one of the Mentors of House Sphinx and will be looking out for Talyssa. Galad enjoys anything physical and hates to be cooped up inside. He has a penchant for getting into mischief. He’s also married to the elf girl he was betrothed to from birth and they have a lil bb elfling on the way. The wife is in Norway and Galad is verra antsy these days.

Kent is an Alchemist. He’s super intense and focused on making everything in his life perfect - a side effect of being an alchemist, actually. He’s in Hydra. He’s a writer for the school newspaper and takes his work very seriously. I forget if he’s diagnosed or not, but Kent has OCD when it comes to organization and being in charge of things.

- Jack, the banshee teacher who is also the Head of House Sphinx.
- Brendan, the half-pucca who turns into ravens or horses when he sneezes.
- Aktamun, an Egyptian chaosweaver with a penchant for blowing shit up! He's a witch too!
- Tanek, a boy who cannot die, mentor in House Kitsune, skews to the more illegal side of things.
- Wendy, wendigo trapped in human form. Steadily growing more human. Annoyed with that/
- Gilderoi, royal elf twin, School President, mean.
- Obsi, new dwarf! Wants to be a big music star!

Hello Jay and welcome! I’m Theo. Talyssa’s ability is really unique. I never would’ve thought of that in this setting and you’re making it work amazingly well. Poor dear being part of the Anton kids couldn’t have helped her grow in her ability at all. I’m in Florida and I’m not sure how that lines up with NZ either, but we’ll make it work out!

So I play five characters here, but two are set to graduate this spring and I’ve been filling my ranks to be prepared for when that day comes (*sobs*). I don’t have anyone in Sphinx, but my teacher Josephine is the grandmother everyone deserves and she has a special soft spot in her heart for those Anton kids. She has two kids of her own and probably grandkids she never sees. She’s a Djinn. She teaches Dance, Religion, and the Art of Transformation. Her door is always open!

My other teacher is Maximilian Price, the Pride Demon. He’s brand new and teaches Psychology and Literature. He’s also the head of Pegasus House and advises the Student Council. We’ll see how they feel one another out.

Tomi is my brand new shiny vampire from Japan. He’s mute. Can Talyssa read body language? He’s getting pretty good at charades haha. And he’s starting to learn to sign. He has an app on his phone that is his savior at the moment as it does text to voice. Tomi was pretty outgoing before getting attacked by a vampire and losing his voice, so he’s trying to get back into the social scene as best he can.

Hayden is one of my Experts. He’s a telekinetic human who was once cursed into becoming a girl for a few years. He ran for class president and lost to Gil a month ago or so. But he’s cool with it. So long as everyone’s having a good time. He was friends with Sorin, not so much with Nick, but he’s good with Tanek, so maybe the three of them have hung out before at Kitsune dorms and smoked some weed, idk.

Next and last is John, my Cherokee Medicine Man. Best word to describe him is maudlin. He has learning troubles and it has crushed his self-confidence and made him turn to cocaine. He keeps to himself unless he’s high, in which case he’s more vocal and aggressive. I’m not sure he would’ve taken any time to get to know Talyssa, but what can you do?

Yay! Fresh blood! And let me say, I am uber jealous! I have wanted to move/live in New Zealand since I was like 12.

Anyways, here goes the role call.

Kristen Moon: Expert in Sphinx. Vampire. She is friendly to a fault and will make friends with anyone. She dislikes feeding as before she was turned, she was a vegetarian and doesn't like the idea of killing animals to feed. Oddly, she would prefer to feed off humans as she doesn't view humans as having the same innocence as animals, though she doesn't really want to harm people, either.

Nicole Ramsey: She is an Advanced in Pegasus. She is a witch, specializing in elemental magic, specifically water/ice. She is also a medalist winning junior Olympian in figure skating. Despite he talent in figure skating, she has a strong passion for ice hockey. She is friendly, if you get to know her, but a bit to herself. She doesn't have many friends but is very loyal to those she has.

Delphine McGilvery: She is a standard in Kitsune. She is a half-water nymph. She has a very innocent way about her. She has only been living among humans for a little over a year. She is not a fan of it so far and longs to go find and return to her mother. She has a strong mistrust for males, stemming from her father being an abusive drunk. She is very confused by human culture.

Alyson Evans: She is a standard in Sphinx. She is a vampire and loves absolutely everything about it. Both of her parents are vampires and St. Margaret's alumni. She was adopted as a baby and turned by her adoptive father on her 15th birthday. She is very confident and the popular/queen bee type but is the type that will make friends with anyone and doesn't like to exclude people.

Finally, I have my teacher

Chloe Williams. She is the HoH of Kitsune. She teaches Philosophy, Law and Justice, Music studies/appreciation and Economics.

I have to tell you that Talyssa has some serious hero worship forming for Fisher lol. It isn't romantic, but she does adore her. For all the reasons laid out in my last comment: she doesn't make fun of her, she switches languages where she can to accommodate Talyssa and points it out gently when she can't, she's kind and she shares... Talyssa's never known anything like this, outside her siblings in fire.

I'm trying to think of how this will align with Fisher's current mind set. Overall, I think Talyssa is "safe": she doesn't seem like the sort to offer to offer confrontations and her abilities aren't violent.

Oooh, but she'd be an excellent excuse for a confrontation. Do you mind if Fisher lashed at someone who'd insulted Talyssa?

(It'd be a lot less chivalrous than it sounds; Fisher is just looking for a fight lately.)

God, yes. Talyssa is having trouble even realizing people are making fun of her. She understands every language, but nuance, idioms, figures of speech, and slang are lost on her, you know? And she's just so damaged, after the castle. She talks so much because at one point, she literally couldn't, and she's reminding herself that she CAN now, and honestly, having someone like Fisher in her corner would be a Godsend.

She went into the castle at six and came out at not quite sixteen so she doesn’t get the whole romantic attraction thing. No worries, I appreciate the asking. Fisher is still a very green character so there's plenty to be figured out.

I don't think she's ace per se, though I don't think she was seriously interested in anybody prior to the accident. Post it, she's working through a profound sense of disconnection.

So basically the mild interest she originally had been almost entirely overshadowed by the accident.

Hi Jay, I'm Ari. I live in Japan! I go to school in the afternoons and am just coming off of hiatus.

I have two characters floating around:

Peyton (this journal) is a Standard in Pegasus and a werewolf. She is generally friendly with folks if they don't give her reason not to be.

Then i have Felix (

caribbeanmerman). He is a merman who loves getting to know everyone he encounters.

I would write better intros for them but I am currently on a busy subway train and I have the worlds most uncooperative mobile keyboard. :|
