Hi everybody! The game is back in full swing, which is great! But something has come up, and we would be terrible mods if we did not address it. So here goes!
Player Knowledge
We know: it's hard. (And I, Cris, am sometimes guilty of violating this myself.) Sometimes, it's tricky to figure out what you as player know and what a character would know. We have noticed that, sometimes, the lines between those things get blurry. But when two characters talk smack about yours in a locked convo, your character cannot feasibly know that - in fact, some characters are just that two-faced. And by blurring the lines between Player Knowledge and Character Knowledge, you could make the game a lot more black-and-white than it needs to be! Because we don't play heroes or villains here: the fun thing about characters like Wendy, Sasha and Van is that they have a light side (and vice versa for friendlier characters). That's what breeds drama, conflict and resolution, and isn't that why we're all doing this?
So don't take it too personally when a character gossips about your character: it usually means your character has done something noteworthy, something to respond to. And yes, sometimes it's hard to let something bad happen to your character, but remember: that's where all the growth comes from.
