I don't think you have to forgive her. I think . . . there's reasons for what she did, but reasons aren't enough to make it okay. They'll only explain why. And even if you forgive her, Delphinus never will.

But she's sure she's right. That you aren't hurting her the way you would someone who isn't half-ghost. And . . . if 'astral' really is the same thing as 'ecto', if really is the same thing I can hear in you . . .

I can tell you for sure if you are.

Because it's not magical. If it's ecto . . . it's a physical transmission, with physical effects. The destabilization would occur because it's not something humans can replenish once it's gone; they only have a finite supply.

Something like that . . . it's not something she could hide from me. Any more than Tide's body can hide what's happening when there's not enough in you.
