What:

[There's a flickering light flitting through the streets of the ancient city today—two, actually. Although they don't seem to be moving in any kind of cohesive pattern . . . They haven't even crossed paths yet.

The torches and their bearers are wandering this way and that, dodging areas that show fresh signs of the activity of predators (although there are some surprising signs that someone has wandered right into obvious terapede nests . . .)

One of those torch bearers is Scowl, out today to scout the area for anything . . . well, telling.]

	it might come as a surprise to those who know him that Jace is using a torch instead of his illusions, but the less mana he has to use, the better. he's taking a winding route through the abandoned city, senses alert for any unusual feelings. (Reply to this) (Thread)

[Very little has lapped up against his senses. What has has been barest of traces, flickers and echoes, whispers... and they've been leading him into a monumental circle.

The path at least, has been interesting through this part of the walk, as tiresome and frustrating as it has been. The architecture has slowly changed from the squat and heavy buildings, double walled and defended with masonry fences ... into something truly bizarre.

It's hard to tell whether the strange curves and mind boggling design are actually ruins of a greater picture, or was simply... intended that way.]

	he shivers a little as he walks, reminded of other places and times: the ruins of Zendikar looked nothing like this, but exuded the same sense of alien design. a thoughtful pause, and he starts marking his trail, little slashes of a knife against stone, enough so he'll know where he's been. [The buildings, as you travel, get more complex, a little more maddened. Almost as if designs now were just to see if they could be done, or in spite of the fact that they couldn't.

The torchlight, even with a tendancy to drown out color, still shows an increasing movement to black... ... unremarkable if the scrape of your knife didn't flake off some of it now and then.]

[And... quite suddenly, in fact, splitting one tower on a house nearly neatly in half. The neighborhood simply stops, darkened and black, whatever hit here, simply vaporized stone, steel and iron as if it was little more than dry mushwood.

Up ahead, an enormous structure is cast in your torchlight, disfigured and bubbled, having had either enough fortitude or simple mass to have withstood whatever wrath fell here.]

[Nearest the bottom, the lines of the great creation are straight and simple, a few lines of disruption where molten rock dribbled down and cooled. Square and rising up some distance, to where an indent was carved into the center, deep as if a giant throne.

As you circle the great building, it becomes both apparent that there IS no doors... and that you aren't alone. Another light spilling over the very edges of the corner and casting long shadows over your own.]

	eyeing that indent thoughtfully for a moment, before he notices the other light. he hadn't been expecting any other Blanks around this area, but even if it's Ophiuchus patrolling, it's too late for a stealthy approach. Better to link up, if it's a team blank, or deal with a loyal Ophiuchus if needed. He raises his torch and heads toward the other light. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
