[Some minutes ago, curfew fell, the dampening darkness seeming deeper and thicker than it ever has. And one by one, outside of a few dorms, circles of small yellow lights flickered into existence, and each made their way to the rocks and fallen pillars that marked the front guards to the silent ruins of the Sacred City. As each catch sight of each other and puddle together, a young kid in black, bearing no light himself, glances over at Mitsuru, and then back at the group.]

... Apus? Hmm.

I assume we all know the plan?

[You start towards the north. There's an odd limit to sound around you, no echo of your voice or footsteps off of the cavern walls, no sounds of creatures or water.. it's as if your voice only travels as far as the light.

.. the light is strange as well, casting no shadow of rock or your footsteps, as if it is not so much really a light as a lack of darkness around you.

The ruins begin to form into coherent patterns around you, doorways and foundations, the scattering of cobblestones as the path you take becomes more evident and winding through a residential neighborhood, long since hollowed out.]

[The light spills over the broken bars and slides between them, dawning over what appears to be a large field.

Nearest to you are a few benches, evenly spaces near what seems to be an incline at the edges of your light. Rolling and even, the simple silt is broken only by a simple, flagstone path, running northwards. In her hand, Maya feels a slight pulse in that direction.]

Not much ahead, an empty field... and a large tree. Rocks. [He shrugs.]

[As Maya follows the path down, it takes a while to get to what Nishi described, the light slowly catching up as the path winds this way and that... and finally illuminates the still branches of a large, leafless, and oddly grey tree.

Only audible and visible to Maya, something shimmers in the air, and then with a sharp sound, chains and locks materialize around the branches, grounding themselves in the dirt.]
