Um, l-lemme see if I remember. Okay, Cinderella was a poor young girl who was raised by her evil and jealous stepmother and her two daughters, and she didn't have any friends. . .aside from mice, apparently.
One day the Prince held a ball, and thanks to her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella was able to go! But at the stroke of midnight the clothes the fairy gave her turned back into poor rags, and she ran away, leaving behind a glass slipper. The Prince, smitten with Cinderella, used the shoe to find her by trying it on every girl in the kingdom. Eventually he found her, they were married, which was a huge slap in the step-family's face.
Sleeping Beauty I'm a bit fuzzier on. . .but from what I remember, a wicked jealous fairy put a curse on Beauty, and made her fall asleep after she pricked her finger on a spinning wheel on one of her later birthdays. Similar to your story, a prince finally found her after years and years, and woke her up with a kiss.
Er, these are all the child friendly versions, I think. So they all lived happily ever after.
