The game has got to do with it, right? You said "become nothing to save me", so it's pretty clear you had to become Zero for that. And you said putting bombs into those people, all of that stuff, it was necessary, right...?
If we changed the past... if that's even possible— maybe we needed the game to either have it stick or just complete it.
