[ it's a long note that lingers through the caves... less alarmed or warning, than mournful, almost.
at the very eastern edge of the fields, it's possible to see where walls of stone rise sharply up once more in ragged waves, forming the cavern's dome; the light from the outermost torches reflects off a taloned form, almost crystalline, perched atop one of those ledges high above the ground.
it might be a statue carved from ice. A griffon, wings folded to its sides, head outstretched and watching all below. ]
