So you're saying that you weren't the type afraid for his own life until after he was dead? You weren't the type to try the all-or-nothing methods and sacrificing other people in order to survive until after you died?

Saying that, it just means that you remember some sort of life after death that you learned to guard exclusively. And saying it that way, it would mean that you didn't care much for your own life before you died.
