I don't mind helping. Take your time to rest a little; I'll be back in a few minutes.

Thank you. [when you lean in to give it] Ah - your eyes?

[sitting down once you have the plants] I haven't figured out how to deactivate them yet.

When exactly did they-? When fighting... that Judge, right?

[nod] I don't know why, but I think it was because it was a dangerous situation, and Royal's heart was at stake... I remember feeling very tense, and on edge. And then when the shard exploded... [gestures at his face] My eyes became like this.

[shakes head] When my eyes are like this, my...perception is changed. I remember the feel of it from my memories.

Good.

...not sure how we could reverse it... to turn it off.

...It turned itself off in one of my memories, but I'm not sure how to replicate the circumstances. And they're useful like this, so I wouldn't want to turn them off unless I knew how to turn them back on.

[nods -- carefully.]

Is your vision better?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]spiltbloodlines
2011-03-08 06:33 am UTC (link)
...No. Not when it comes to ordinary vision. But I see some things I wouldn't be able to otherwise, or better than I would be able to otherwise, and even if I don't necessarily know how to interpret what I'm seeing, I suppose in those respects my vision is better like this.

I don't feel any strain on my eyes except for adapting to the influx of new information, so at the very least I doubt my harming my eyesight while my eyes are like this.

[pause. what is this question. what.] ...Did someone tell you that alcohol was evil?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

No.

I drank a lot of it yesterday.

It was good at the time.

And I didn't end up upset about dying the way I did the time before that so I thought it would be okay this time.

Ah.

...I imagine you might call alcohol evil precisely because it can change how you think or feel so much when you drink it. And because the aftereffects are so unpleasant, no matter what you feel at the time of drinking.
