She called it a reflection of a memory. She broke it into a shard and put that through my head. I'm uncertain if it was literal or metaphysical.

In any case, it seems to be replicating the properties of dark matter, of which Akuma are made. It seems that it is possible to combine Akuma traits with a human that is still living... It has become difficult for me to tolerate Innocence, which the Exorcists from my world posses.

...In the cases that Walker and myself recall, the affected arm was the left one, not the right.

That is as much as I know.
