Re: [EVEN LATER]
It's not. And I couldn't. I put it to a vote, instead.
We wound up doing it... but at Cassie's insistence, we were going to warn them first. Anyone who could get out would, and we'd minimize human casualty. Anyone who was still infested would be free after three days- the things in their head would starve to death.
But, first we needed a bomb. So we went to go steal it from a military base. The Captain wasn't infested. When I tried to talk to him, he didn't recognize me at all... if he'd been a Yeerk, he'd know to try to kill me on sight. One of them did try- a private. He missed, barely, and I explained to the Captain what was going on, why he should help us, that sort of thing.
He agreed, and we got the explosives, we loaded up the train... and we blew up our enemy's main base, along with who knows how many humans who were still trapped there. So in a way, it was a really important victory. And in a way, it... wasn't.
