Moving on—poison, or guillotine? This question is nothing but a false dichotomy that masks the true and complex underlying dilemma about the desirability or necessity of capital punishment in advanced societies! However I will pander to your simplistic demands and declare my preference for the subtle and insidious applications and the infinite array of options available with poison. The guillotine is an outdated and stigmatized form of punishment that encourages death as sport, which I deplore. It is also French, though they are lovely people, I am sure.
