Who: Everyone
Where: Within the Sacred City
When: King's Year 199
What:

[Slowly, the upheaval of the land subsides with each successive flash. Others, one of the thousands and thousands of people find symbols themselves and those few brave, willing touch them.

The land, scattered with tents and crude structures of wood and metal, has become verdant and green. Lush grass, trees all sway in a soft breeze, under the gentle warmth of the sun you once remembered and a sky, perfect and blue.

Creatures, familiar or new, depending on where you once lived, now roam, also exploring the expansive new, wild place in which you live.

In the distance, to the far south, the great doors have vanished.]

[Outside... there is nothing.]

[Delphinians, and the odd far too dehydrated Pavo.

She really only meant to touch the water. Maybe wash the dust from her hands, and her face. But the combination of swelling instinct and fatigue is what it is, and she topples forward without even really trying to fight it.]

[spots her falling into the water and quickly swims towards her, concerned]

Lady Feathers!

[She would probably even be able to hear you if not for being surrounded by all this wonderful water.]

[well she doesn't seem to be flailing but that could be bad too... finds her waist and slowly tugs her so her head is above water]

[Breaks the surface a little reluctantly, eyes blinking open drowsily. They're kind of gold around the edges.]

. . . Zero?

[sigh of relief as he goes and gives her a hug]

[Hugs. Hugs are nice. Wraps her arms around him in return, head resting on his shoulder.]

Were you worried, Lieutenant?

Worried about a great deal of many things, whether we'd build it on time, whether the rocks would come crashing down on us, whether or not I'd even survive the heat ever since the Old Woman... since she became like this.

But I worry no more, at least. For today.

The heat was hard. Even I felt like one of the jellies caught on the sands at low tide, drying up on the beach.

Now... we're alright.

I never thought a bath could feel this good.

. . . everything really worked out.

An incredible gift.

[Slips back down into it, shaking her head a bit underwater before surfacing again.]

Ahh~!

The children . . . were they okay?

You don't know how much one terribly misses something until it's taken from you.

They're fine. Exploring.

[Some of those closer to the sea in heritage start breaking out into song. Not the bawdy sea shanties of the taverns but songs of the sea; taking both celebratory and melancholy tones. You can hear it in the water.]

[Just drifts there a moment, eyes closed, the tools around her waist more than enough to keep her submerged. Something about the underwater sounds seems just . . . right, somehow, as joyous as the chors, but different, too . . .]
