[A tall, gaunt man walks across the plains alone approaching a small gathering of Pyxis tribes, with little fear or hesitation. He seems to have appeared out of almost nowhere, and unphased by the pre-monsoon winds. He swathed in the black uniforms of an Ophiuchus priest and uniform is lined with red. Though his cloak is drawn over his face, you can see something of a tight line of his lips and his hands, when he speaks, are slow moving and expressive.

He stops just before the first tribesman approaching him.]

I seek the chieftain of all the tribes, and then the clan with the greatest speed and experience.

Even word of the flood in your childhood came from a priest of the rain bringer. The contents of the great lady's tapestries have only before been referred to as something not fit for mortal eyes or mortal minds; a single thread is said to hold more than strands than men such as us could learn in the entirety of our lifetimes.

For the image she is weaving to be spoken of like this is unheard of. If there are indeed preparations we can make, they are not ones that have been written of before.

The people of Hydra are not prone to 'going out of control'. Far more a concern is that they will bunker down so far into the swamp you'll never find them again.

Be honest, G. You've been too long away in other places — these are not some fool plains beasts, prone to stampeding at the slightest noise. They are people who live with more daily than most of other nations see in a lifetime. They will take whatever burdens you place upon them and bear up under them as much as they are able. It's our way.
