[ sure is a lot of white space in here. also a faintly metallic, acrid scent in the air, if you have the nose for it. the odd crackle of static cuts through otherwise dead silence. ]
[ though on closer inspection the ground isn't completely featureless. it's not flat so much as rippled in colorless waves that radiate from an epicentre, already cooling into glazed stillness. ]
