Then the symbols aren't there to describe what you're transmuting?

[Reaching down to take a sheet] Ah... Amazing.

*shakes his head*

They just direct the energy. I remember using the same array for different types of transmutations before, it should work the same here.

Where does the energy come from?

Don't remember yet... Al'n I were really young in the memory I got back, we'd learned how to control the energy but not where it came from.

I see. In that case do you feel tired at all? It would be bad to have you do this often if you're using up your own energy.

M'not tired at all, so I don't think it's my own energy... but that was only one try, too.

Could you use this array for ice then? Or would you have to test it?

I think it'll work! We can try it out now if you want.

Well, if we want to see whether it will tire you out either way...

Here. [Handing pot of cold water over, so you can set it properly in the array. Taking up the papers and examining them.]

*positioning the pot in the center of the array, looking it over, then activating the array and creating--slush.*

Ah.

Not enough energy?

Don't think it was that... I was trying to keep from changing the pot, too, and I don't think I separated them right.
