	I wasn't the one who declared war. You weren't there; you didn't hear the exchange he had with Van. Van kept telling him to back down and not make it like this. But he did, because Van wouldn't get on his knees in front of him. So there it is. If you don't know the whole situation that led into this, you shouldn't bring it up. 	Scowl is not representative of what all of Hydra thinks or feels. Saying that kind of thing is definitely unforgivable... but taking it out on others who had nothing to do with it at all, and escalating the situation to what could turn out to be a never-ending bloodbath is too. ... Not everybody here is like that, Arsine. There are really ... a lot of genuinely good people here. People who do their best not to hurt anyone in the games, or who try to protect others even outside of their team where they can, or who, even accepting that they have to hurt someone else, do their best to keep it from becoming personal or awful ... even though it's always awful.

Maybe if I thought like you, it'd hurt less when I get proven wrong about someone. But even so, I-- I don't know if I could live like that, never believing in others. To me, it seems like ... the saddest thing in the world.

There are a few people here, certainly. There was even someone who stood up for Lepus once. She's on Cepheus, so we do everything we can for Cepheus. That's how we got into debt with our patron, actually, I hear. Because she protected us, we'll pay any price for her.

We take care of our own.

But for every one person like that, there's plenty like your leader, who made it perfectly clear what they think about Lepus and what we're worth. Your leader said he wanted an apology for something that happened ages ago; Van said he'd given one the day the person woke up, but it wasn't enough -- he wasn't on his knees. Things like that. We see it wherever we go. We and Monoceros aren't well-viewed. In two different ways, neither of us are worth other people's consideration. You know our reputation; you hear it from other people, don't you? I'm sure you've heard enough about us from everyone. So we're a good scapegoat. Nobody's going to care if Lepus gets hurt. So, we live like that.

It's not sad. In a way, it's even a matter of pride, to be able to take that and keep going. If people treat us well, great, but it'd be embarrassing to do otherwise, given who we are.

And if you can't face me with that, that's also fine. I don't care, and I won't bear a grudge, but I feel what I feel and I'll act how I act when we're treated that way.
